Ade Kearns is Professor of Urban Studies at the University of Glasgow, which he joined as a Research Fellow in 1987. He has conducted policy-related research into a wide range of housing and urban issues. His current research interests include: community mix, neighbourhood quality and social cohesion; patterns and impacts of ethnic residential segregation; neighbourhood change, health and well-being; the impacts of residential turnover.
Ade is also the Director of the ESRC/ODPM Postgraduate Research Programme which funds a number of Postdoctoral Research Fellows and PhD students at various higher education institutions in the UK to support the Government's Sustainable Communities policy agenda.
