Tom Slater joined the Centre for Neighbourhood Research in March 2003, having completed his degrees at the geography departments of Queen Mary, University of London, and King's College London. His most recent work, partly funded by the Leverhulme Trust, was a comparative analysis of gentrification in South Parkdale, Toronto, and Lower Park Slope, New York City. He also wrote and designed the most comprehensive website on gentrification currently available. Future research projects will concentrate on residential segregation and neighbourhood change in Bristol.
