Patricia Kennett - BSc, PhD
Patricia Kennett is a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Policy Studies at the School for Policy Studies. Since joining Bristol University in 1993 she has undertaken research both nationally and internationally on issues relating to homelessness, housing, citizenship and social exclusion, attitudes to home ownership and the problems of negative equity and harassment and illegal eviction in the private rented sector. Her work has been funded by the Department of the Environment, the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the Economic and Social Research Council.

Patricia's recent work includes research on risk, economic insecurity and homeownership in cross-national perspective. Her current interests include the relationship between globalisation, governance and public policy and the challengers and opportunities this presents for comparative analysis. Recently she edited a special issue of urban studies on neighbourhood and social cohesion in European societies, and is currently working on an edited collection for Edward Elgar 'Globalisation, Governance and Public Policy'.

Patricia has also completed a solo authored book 'Comparative Social Policy: Theory and Research' published by Open University Press and an edited collection entitled 'Handbook of Comparative Social Policy published' by Edward Elgar.
